The Arrival of the Taliban and Our Challenges

With the arrival of the Taliban, we faced immense challenges, including the loss of crucial opportunities that could have helped us achieve our dreams. In addition to these hardships, many girls suffered severe psychological distress due to this tragic event.

The day the Taliban entered Kabul was nothing short of a catastrophe. The entire city descended into chaos. In schools where midterm exams were in progress, teachers hastily concluded the tests and sent students home to ensure their safety.

As we left school, panic engulfed the streets—shopkeepers, street vendors, and students were all fleeing, unsure of what to do. When we arrived home, a deep sense of anxiety filled the house. My father had returned from work, but my grandmother was extremely worried because my younger uncle was unreachable. My family knew all too well what the Taliban were capable of, and this fear made my grandmother even more distressed. She had endured immense suffering during the Taliban’s first regime and could not bear the thought of her children experiencing the same hardships.

Eventually, we managed to contact him. He made it home safely, bringing relief to everyone. That day was one of the most eventful and distressing days for families across the city.

Respectfully,
